Indeed, in this world there is no country with a perfect leader able to realize every desire of the community, or even able to make their country safe from internal and external intervention 100%. However, there are many indicators that make a leader leadership worthy and able to run his leadership, one of which is in supervising and managing their subordinates so that each policy is able to produce an effective product that can be felt by many people. In this case, the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo has these indicators, where his ministers scored a lot of achievements as evidence of the effectiveness of policies made by Jokowi.
One of Jokowi’s highly accomplished subordinates is Finance Minister Sri Mulyani. Having previously received the title of the world’s best minister of the World Government Summit held in Dubai, the Arab Emirates, he is now re-awarding international honors as AsiaFinance’s finest finance minister, FinanceAsia.
According to FinanceAsia, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani managed to bring the economy of Indonesia to a better direction. Minister Sri Mulyani is considered successful in taking advantage of global economic progress to reform the financial structure in 2017 so that it can survive when interest rates rise in the United States.
On the award, the Minister of Finance revealed that this appreciation cannot be separated from the role of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Jusuf Kalla for their leadership which always encourages all ministers to always work hard to improve the life of the Indonesian people. It is also an acknowledgment and appreciation for the hard work of the Government in the economic field, supported by good cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and all stakeholders.
He added that the Minister of Finance is a public position and state servant responsible for managing state finances for the greatest welfare of the people. “State finance is a tool for realizing the ideals of Indonesian independence to create a just and prosperous society and a civilized and dignified nation,” he said.
In addition to awarding Sri Mulyani Indrawati as the Best Finance Minister in Asia Pacific 2018, FinanceAsia also released ratings for other finance ministers in the region. In addition, the Government is also considered successful in maintaining the stability of inflation and the rupiah exchange rate. In 2017, Indonesia’s Gross Domestic Product reached US $ 1 trillion for the first time, with stable economic growth above 5%.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani presents this award for the people of Indonesia who in April will commemorate Kartini Day, an inspirational female figure who not only has great intellect and high concern for society and nation but is not reluctant to struggle to break down barriers for women to get the opportunity to demand education and equal roles in society. Sri Mulyani hopes that Indonesian women and girls continue to be relentless and never tired of continuing Kartini’s idealism and struggles, by learning as high as possible and contributing their mind and energy to continue the leadership baton of the founders of the nation. And also can activate itself in developing countries and nations to realize a dignified, prosperous, fair, and respected Indonesia by other nations in the world.
Currently, Indonesia is crawling towards developed countries with all the policy breakthroughs designed, so the world must see, that so far Indonesia is seen as a country with high levels of corruption and identic with extremism, the quinine stigma is slowly lost because the government and the community synergize to realizing a strong and advanced Indonesia.
