The party of Indonesian democracy is over, now only waiting for the official recapitulation process from the General Election Commission (KPU) and announcing the winner of the Presidential election for the period 2019 – 2024. Although still awaiting official recapitulation, it is ensured that the President and vice president for the period 2019-2024 is Ir. Joko Widodo and Prof. Dr. KH Ma’ruf Amin based on the process of quick count results from various survey institutions. Many welcomed the results, but there were also those who were disappointed, but that was all common in any contestation including political contestation.
Although still awaiting official recapitulation from the KPU, many of the country’s leaders have congratulated President Joko Widodo and Vice-President candidate Ma’ruf Amin for the successful implementation of a peaceful and conducive election. Presidential candidate number 01 Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said he had received congratulations from at least 22 leaders of friendly countries regarding the 2019 election.
This was said by Jokowi when giving an open statement during a meeting with the general chairmen and secretary-general of the supporting political parties at Resto Pelataran, Menteng, Central Jakarta this afternoon. Jokowi said that three of the 22 leaders of friendly countries congratulated him on Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
“From noon to this afternoon we have received a call from Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad. Dan, also Singaporean Prime Minister, PM Lee Hsien Loong. And also from the President of Turkey, President Erdogan. And also 10 other countries that have given congratulations on the success of a large democratic party in our country … And, he expressed his congratulations to all Indonesian people.

Jokowi appreciated the congratulations from 22 heads of state, because holding large elections was not easy. Because Indonesia has 17 thousand islands with more than 800 thousand polling stations.
