The Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, was awarded the Best Minister in the World Award at the World Government Summit held in Dubai, Arab Emirates. The award was handed over by Dubai’s leader Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
“This Best Ministerial Award is a global award given to one minister from every country in the world each year and commenced in 2016. Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia in his speech expressed his appreciation to be the first recipient from Asia to receive the award. He said that the award is an acknowledgment of the collective work of the government under the leadership of President Joko Widodo, especially in the economic field. The Minister of Finance also dedicated the award to 257 million Indonesians and 78,164 Ministry of Finance officials who have worked hard to manage the state’s finances with integrity and high commitment to create equitable and equal citizens’ welfare.
Various policy reform efforts have been launched in the Ministry of Finance, aimed at fostering fiscal policy towards inclusive and sustainable development. The reform of bureaucracy in the Ministry of Finance has also produced many results.
