Not many people known Griselda Sastrawinata, besides she is not a public figure, but she works behind the making of Disney character designs that almost certainly everyone knows. Yes, Griselda was the first Indonesian to take part in making the animated films of Dreamworks and Walt Disney Animation Studios. Griselda graduated from ArtCenter College of Design, Pasadena, United States and began her career with Walt Disney Animation Studios on the Moana animated film consisting of 800 people from 25 countries, where she was part of the Visual Development Artist.

Griselda Sastrawinata became part of the visual development artist for the film Frozen 2 where Griselda became the costume designer for the main character in Frozen 2 movie Anna and costumes for other characters. Being part of Walt Disney Animation Studios was a dream of Griselda since childhood. Griselda likes films like The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty and Lady in Tramp. Until finally something she loved was an inspiration for her to start a career in the animation industry.

Griselda revealed that being a part of Walt Disney Animation Studios was not something she could immediately achieve after getting a bachelor’s degree. According to her, after graduating from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, United States, Griselda met Disney who was present at the Career Day event. Griselda immediately submitted a job application, and only received a response after several months. However, for the next 10 years, Griselda had not been able to join Disney because it was always offered projects when Griselda already had a job. On the other hand, when Griselda was not working on the project, Disney said there were no vacancies.

The opportunity awaited finally came when Griselda was contacted for the Moana film project by Ron Clements and John Musker. Received appreciation for her performance in the film Moana, making Griselda re-involved in the film Frozen 2. To this day, Griselda is the only Indonesian worker in the Disney Art department and the first Indonesian woman to join Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Before starting her career at Walt Disney Animation Studios, Griselda worked at another large animation production house in California, United States of America, namely Dreamworks. During her career in the animation world, Griselda became part of various animated films namely Shrek Forever After, Puss In Boots, How To Train Your Dragon 2, Kungfu Panda 2, The Croods, Home, Moana to the last is Frozen II.
