Indonesia again showed its existence in the prestigious international event. This time the proud news came from Mister Tourism 2018 which took place in Rome, Italy. Indonesia, represented by Eric Novianto, successfully won the 4th Runner Up and the Best National Costume award. In the selection of Mister Tourism World 2018 which took place in Rome, Italy, around 24 participants attended from various countries.
In an event held on Sunday (3/2) local time, Eric received a very good assessment from the judges led by Liberato Mirenna. Candidates are judged by their physical appearance and knowledge of tourism in each country and exchanging ideas on how to promote sustainable tourism. As the only Asian representative in the best five in this contest, Eric, a young man representing the Bangka Belitung region expressed his pride and expression of gratitude to the Indonesian people, as well as the Indonesian Embassy in Rome for the support given to him.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Italy, Esti Andayani, who attended the peak night of the election with other Indonesian Embassy staff in Rome, expressed his appreciation for Eric’s achievements. The election of Eric representing Indonesia went through a long process. Previously, he had to go through the election phase at the provincial level. Representing Babylon to Mister Indonesia 2017, the 184-centimeter tall man won third place, on the eve of the final held at the Cak Durasim Building in East Java Cultural Park, Surabaya City, East Java.
