Brian Imanuel Soewarno, also known as Rich Brian, is now making a proud Indonesian music lover again after his name was nominated for the 2019 MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA). Rich Brian was the only Indonesian representative in the “Best Southeast Asia Act” nomination. To win the category, Rich Brian had to compete with Jannine Weigel from Thailand, Jasmine Sokko from Singapore, Moira Dela Torre from the Philippines, Suboi from Vietnam, and Yuna from Malaysia.

The announcement of the winner of the 2019 MTV Europe Music Awards will be held during the top event on Monday, November 4, 2019.
Recently, Rich Brian collaborated with South Korean singer Kim Chung-Ha for the single These Nights. This collaboration video clip has been watched 5 million times since it was released on October 2, 2019, and is still trending in the order of 25.
Currently, Rich Brian is preparing to hold a series of Sailor Tour 2019 world tours. They will visit cities in America and Europe.
Rich Brian was born in Jakarta, 3 September 1999. He began his career through social media in 2010. He began to be known by the Indonesian public even to the hip hop music center in America because of his song “Dat $ tick” which was released in February 2016. The song successfully landed ranked 4th on the Billboard Bubbling Under R & B / Hip-Hop singles chart.
Last year, Rich Brian entered the “30 under 30 Asia” list from Forbes Magazine, which contains the names of young people under the age of 30 who are considered the most influential in the Asia Pacific. He is included in 3 categories namely Celebrities, Entertainment & Sports and Youngest.
In the Celebrities category, he ranked 6. For the Entertainment & Sports category, he ranked 8 and in the Youngest category, he ranked 5. Rich Brian side by side with other musicians such as BTS from South Korea and Flume from Australia.
On February 2, 2018, Rich Brian released the album “Amen”, which had 14 tracks including “Glow Like That”, “Chaos” and “See Me”. The album was ranked 18th on the Billboard 200 chart in its debut week.
With that, Rich Brian became the first Indonesian musician to make it to the Top 20 Billboard 200 chart. In 2017, he also toured the United States. On July 26, 2019 he released his latest album “The Sailor”.
