Here are some achievements of the Indonesian government from January to May 2018.

He revealed that the construction of the airport train is one of the government’s efforts to reduce congestion that occurred in Jakarta. With the presence of the airport train, coupled with the construction of LRT, MRT, and integration with other transportation facilities, the President hopes that people will be willing to switch to mass transportation.
“We hope people are no longer using private cars. But all of them want to move to the safe, comfortable and can be used together, both in Jabodetabek and to the airport, “he said.
On the occasion, President Joko Widodo briefly tested the operation of the airport train which was built since three years ago. From terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the Head of State goes directly to the departure station using SkyTrain which has operated first. After inaugurating and reviewing the departure station facility, the President and his entourage then travel by airport train to Sudirman Baru Station.

“Airport trains like this just exist in Medan, then in Jakarta, then that is now in West Sumatra in Padang,” said the President in his speech.
The airport railway is named KA Minangkabau Ekspres and is already operating premiered on May 1, 2018. With this airport train, the President hopes that the use of private cars can be reduced so that it can reduce congestion, just like in Jakarta.
“Why are the trains built in Jakarta Kota to the Airport? Because we want to reduce private cars. We want people to take mass transit, busway, train, soon MRT and LRT. Without it inevitably the whole world is sure to be stuck. In West Sumatra, especially in the city of Padang, we want the same thing, “he explained.
Furthermore, the President said that the price of airport train tickets in Padang is also very affordable. The difference with the airport train in Jakarta, said the President, is the airport train in Padang financed from the state budget, not private.
